"One Million Trees" campaign held in Tashkent

The "One Million Trees" campaign, launched in 2019, aims to improve the environmental situation in Uzbekistan.

The project was implemented as a result of the signing of memorandums of understanding with Automated Transport Payment System Operator (ATTO) JSC and Plum Technologies JSC. These companies supported the initiative to create green areas in the city and promote a careful attitude towards nature.

As part of the "One Million Trees" campaign, special attention was paid to the territory of social facilities. Three medical institutions were selected for this:

  • Tashkent city branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Endocrinology named after Academician Y.X. Turakulov;
  • Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Hematology;
  • Republican Center for Rehabilitation of Children's Phthisiology and Musculoskeletal Diseases.

The seedlings were selected taking into account climatic conditions and the wishes of the institution's representatives.

In the Endocrinology Center, fruit trees, poplars, and ornamental mulberries were planted, not only to provide shade but also to create a comfortable environment for patients. In the Hematology Center, benches were installed, juniper, lavender, and various shrubs were planted, which not only improves the microclimate but also affects the mood of visitors. In the Children's Phthisiology and Rehabilitation Center, Crimean pine was planted, which has a positive effect on air quality.

As part of the campaign, organic fertilizer - biohumus - is being used to strengthen the root system of trees. Special attention is also paid to the subsequent care of seedlings - an irrigation system is being installed on the territory of social facilities, and responsible specialists are being appointed to monitor the development of plants.

— We want green areas to become an integral part of the city and care for nature to become a habit for every person, — says Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the Yuksalish Movement, Chairman of the Legislative Chamber Committee of the Oliy Majlis . — Our efforts are aimed at social facilities - hospitals, rehabilitation centers, because clean air is especially appreciated in these places. Planting seedlings is only the first step. It is also important to properly care for them. We hope that this project will become an example for everyone and we call on the city's residents to join our initiatives. Together we can make Tashkent even more prosperous and beautiful!

We always think about the future , and this future belongs to our children . Participation in ecological campaigns allows us to put our values into practice, helps to make children's medical centers greener and more environmentally friendly . Each tree we plant is a symbol of hope and care, they create a comfortable environment for young patients. We want our children to recover in the lap of nature, calmly and with hope, — says Davron Shoyokubov, Executive Director of ATTO.

— For the Plum Technologies team, participating in the “One Million Trees” campaign is, first of all, caring for our children and their health. We are proud to contribute to the greening of the territories of children's medical centers. The trees we plant today will not only decorate the territory, but also cheer up and create the mood of young patients, helping them recover faster, — says Erkin Hidoyatov, Executive Director of Plum Technologies.

As part of the "One Million Trees" campaign, the "Age of Heroes" social eco-project also supports the initiative, emphasizing the importance of creating favorable conditions for future generations.
