How is climate change affecting Uzbekistan? Is there cooperation between government agencies to combat it? What awaits Uzbekistan in the future? Adrian Neil, the head of the European Union's Agriculture Support and Knowledge facility (ASK) program in Uzbekistan, answered these and other questions to the correspondent of the Ekolog.uz website.

-Hello, Adrian! Although this is the first time I've seen you, you've been working in Uzbekistan for several years, right? What has your organization accomplished during this time?

-Adrian Neil: Hello! I have been working in Uzbekistan for 4 years, and the main objectives of the project I manage are to increase the income of agricultural owners, strengthen food security, and provide advisory and financial support for the rational use of natural resources, based on the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture in Uzbekistan for 2020-30.

-I understand that your team has recently conducted climate studies in several regions. How worrying do you think their results are?

-Given the Uzbek government's need for data-based analysis to combat the impacts of climate change in the agricultural sector, our team and I began conducting scientific research in this area in 2022.
